Black Love

In 1927, the Canadian League for the Advancement of Colored People held its inaugural meeting at Aeolian Hall in London, Ontario.

Nearly a century later, The Aeolian, in collaboration with the WEAN Community Centre and community partners such as the LBHCC, Congress of Black Women London Ontario, and the Urban League of London, is organizing an event called "Black Love" to commemorate the 1927 gathering and its resulting manifesto.

This new initiative aims to assess the progress made towards achieving equality and inclusion for the Black community in London.

"Black Love" will bring together members of the Black community and their allies for a meeting, dinner, and a musical performance by the two-time Grammy-nominated Jason Max Ferdinand Singers.

The first Black Love was held on May 22, 2022. It brought together members of the Black community and their allies for a meeting, dinner, and a musical performance by the two-time Grammy-nominated Jason Max Ferdinand Singers.

The next Black Love event is slated for October 2023.
